I was born and raised in Lafayette, and attended Cathedral Carmel for elementary and middle school followed by Comeaux High School. I then went to LSU and obtained a BA in Mass Communications with a focus in Advertising. After graduation I moved to Austin...and the beginning of a 15 year journey began. I did not realize at that point how life-changing it would be.
Chuck's Note: I have never been married.
Having worked in retail since the age of 14, I chose to continue on this path after college. An eight year career in the luxury eyewear industry continued in Austin and would eventually lead to a job transfer to New York City. It was here that I returned to the apparel & accessories industry, working for Levi's, Mavi Jeans and Saks 5th Avenue. After three years in NYC, I chose to return to Lafayette.
Chuck's Note: I am not the missing Olsen twin.
Here I began an unexpected career with David's Bridal. This five year period proved to be the most rewarding and challenging of my career. I was promoted and moved to Tampa, where I spent another three great years...but something was missing. I came back to Lafayette and realized I needed to contribute more. I had witnessed the struggle that so many women face to attain an imaginary standard of beauty. That was the moment. I knew.
Chuck's Note: Again, not my wedding.
I was fortunate enough to manage Lemon Drop for 15 months before I decided to embark on this new journey.
